Phantom CLASSIC Lighting Strips are used in a variety of applications including display cabinet lighting, bookshelf lighting and kitchen cabinet lighting. Fixtures are custom made to length for mounting horizontally under each wood shelf or under kitchen cabinets or vertically behind reveals or stiles in cabinets with glass shelves.

A choice of four different Trim Profiles are available to conceal the light bulbs and contain the light within the cabinetry. Selecting the correct trim profile to match the application will assure best results. The choice between Xenon Festoon Lamps and LED Festoon lamps provides flexibility both in terms of desired lighting effect and budgetary considerations, as well for your under cabinet lighting.

Xenon lamps are essentially Incandescent bulbs that contain Xenon gas inside the lamp to extend filament life. While this represents older technology, the lamps are less costly than LED lamps, therefore the fixtures are less expensive. Another difference is that when using a dimmer, the light from Xenon lamps becomes more golden and even amber as they are dimmed down. Many prefer to experience this effect and will opt for Xenon lamps primarily for this reason.

LED Cabinet Lighting lamps represent the latest in energy-efficient lighting, consuming about one tenth of the electricity compared to Xenon lamps. The choice of Color Tones provides the ability to either mimic the warm effect of Xenon lamps or move into color tones that make colors appear more vibrant and vivid. Not only do LED lamps save on basic power consumption but also relieve the added heat burden on air conditioning systems for the living space. When using a dimmer, the LED lamps do not change color tone but simply become less bright. This assures constancy in the desired balance of lighting color tones in a given space.

Even though LED lamps are more costly, they have a life expectancy of 50,000 hours and therefore will not have to be replaced as often as Xenon lamps, whose rated life is about 18,000 hours. The overall lifetime savings of LED lamps may more than justify the initial cost difference.
